From the North

From the A1 take the A66 towards Middlesborough, from here pick up the A171 towards Guisborough, the road then continues through the Moors through to Whitby.

From the South

Travelling North on the A1M exit the junction for the A64 towards York, Once you get to the roundabout for York, continue on the A64, towards Scarborough and Whitby. Exit the junction for the A169, towards Pickering and Whitby, you will travel through Pickering, still on the A169 across the Moors road.  The journey across the moors is always atmospheric and if travelling in August you  will be treated to the purple Heather in bloom.

On Arrival

Remember, a parking space will be available on the front of the property from 10:30am on your day of arrival and you can access your room from 13:00 with contactless check.  Parking is a real benefit of booking our B&B, we have one space per room.  This is included in our prices so nothing further to pay for our B&B parking.

Although Whitby does have a train station this is a heritage line The train that runs to Middlesborough where trains then connect to the main train services (Northallerton) are infrequent. Check out the information on the website or ask us for help.  The nearest main train line stations are either Scarborough, Malton or York.  From Scarborough you can travel onwards to York through to Leeds and Manchester.  York is a central hub from where you can travel to most major cities.

The X93 service operates between Middlesborough and Scarborough, stopping at Whitby hourly from 06:16 weekdays for Scarborough (you will need to check times) with a journey time of 1 hour 2 minutes.

The 840 Coast Liner service runs from Whitby to York.  5 buses leave per day to with the earliest 11:05 and again run hourly.  This is a leisurely journey, through the moors and villages.  It stops at Malton, Pickering York and Leeds.  2 hours 30 minutes to York, 3 hours 30 minutes to Leeds.

X4 and X4A operate between Whitby and Middlesborough.  Again this is a coast line service which stops at many of the towns and villages on the way.

All details are correct as of February 2024 so I would advise just double checking all the information first.

Alternatively there are a number of cab services locally who can quote to on cost to these stations.

All About Whitby is a local site, run by local B&B owners, to offer the best booking experience for guests wanting to visit our great town.
