Our Story

In June 2014 we decided on a complete change of lifestyle and moved our family to this fantastic seaside town to run a B&B. On taking on our venture, we wanted to offer the standard of service and comfort that we expect when travelling, from the initial booking process; through to well thought out comfortable rooms and of course a fantastic breakfast.

Since moving in we have completed a gradual refurbishment of our home while retaining the period feel of the property. We have managed a complete modernisation of all rooms, including heating, a pressurised hot water system and modern en-suites. All of our rooms have Freesat TV and reliable Wifi.

We have embraced living in Whitby since moving here in 2014 and are now in our second decade of B&Bing, Michelle continues with sea swimming as often as possible and can now get in without a wetsuit; there is something quite appealing about the cold water. Simon is still keen on cyling, taking advantage of the Cinder Track through to Scarborough, but still needs to get properly out into the moors again. Our youngest has now become an expert rock pooler, if there is such occupation and can gather a crowd with her bucket full of crabs, eels and fish.

We are navigating the challenges of an uncertain economy as are our guests and feel that we are still offering value for money. We are gaining new regulars who appreciate stress free booking, nice modern facilities, a proper varied breakfast and of course, guaranteed off street parking. Even with our extra room this year, we have secured a parking space close to our B&B.  We  still love where we live in Whitby and taking advantage of what the North Yorkshire Moors has to offer us.
