This Summer will be our 10th season in Corra Lynn B&B and there are still plenty of things on my To Do List in and around Whitby.

We have had a lot of walkers in just recently who are mostly doing the Cleveland Way which takes you from our B&B on the cinder track towards Robin Hoods Bay and then onto Scarborough.  This walk that I have written about below is between Ravenscar and Scarborough.

Down the coast from Whitby on the A171 towards Scarborough and close to Ravenscar was one walk that we recently did.

We parked in the carpark at the top (25 mins drive from our house) best using the postcode for the pub near the car park as google maps couldn’t locate the Waterfall postcode.  The pub is Hayburn Wake Inn – Yo13 0AU.

Cost was £1 per hour, £5 per day.  Cash only.

Then from the car park it was a lovely 15-20 mins walk to the sea and the waterfall.  Decent walking shoes needed.

Stone beach with quite a few rock pools.  The waterfall is probably waist deep at the most.

We thoroughly enjoyed the walk down, through the woods, lots of stone steps.  Our youngest daughter (7) hated the walk back up though.

Top tip – If you are follow the signs back up for the pub, when you get to the top, just turn right and go through the gate, the pub is then just a 5 mins walk (we got lost!).

At the top, there is the pub called Hayburn Wake Inn which as we really needed the toilet and a drink, it was a perfect stop.

The sun was out and it was a great pub, plenty of seating outside and plenty inside.  Very busy and the menu looked great for Sunday lunch, which we are definitely heading back to try in the Summer months.

Thanks Michelle
