Things to look forward to in Summer 2021 – I’ve made my own list:-
As January 2021 draws to a close, I am looking forward to February and maybe some good news of when we are allowed to re-open by the government.
For now I have made myself a list of all the things I am looking forward to, when we are allowed out of lockdown.
1. Sitting on the beach on my chair, by myself or with friends, with a book, occasionally chatting about random things, the sun on my face, wearing flip flops and a summer dress and maybe a baileys in hand, just watching and listening to the sea.

2.Walking from Runswick Bay (my favourite walk around Whitby and the area).Catching the bus there and then walking the 5.8 miles along the coastal route to Sandsend and stopping for a lunch outside and a glass of prosecco.

3.Going for a sea swim with friends and just enjoying the waves, the shrieks and the sheer thrill of the cold sea water.

4.Just wandering around Whitby and being able to pop into all the delightful small independent shops and buy whatever I like then sitting in a courtyard somewhere and enjoying a coffee and a cake with all my bags of purchases.

5.Celebrating birthdays/anniversaries/special occasions with family and friends, I have a brand new great-nephew who I have only seen once since he was born and I just really, really want to enjoy time with people.

6.Answering the phone to all our reservations calls!! If you don’t like websites and making online reservations and want to talk to us, we are always happy to answer the phone and answer any questions you have. Our number is 01947602214.

7. Breakfast being made for me by Simon plus getting to test out any new recipes that he has in mind. One of his breakfast specials is Farmers Salad, crisp salad leaves, bacon or black pudding, sautéed potatoes then topped with 2 perfectly poached eggs and drizzled with his homemade oil and honey dressing. Or maybe a cheese and mushroom omelette, cooked to perfect. (my omelettes never turn out like Simon’s, its good that he is the one in the kitchen).

So until we have a definite date and I can start to make plans rather than just dreaming, I thought I would share with you what Summer 2021 will look like in our B&B – Corra Lynn in Whitby.
We will have contactless check in, if you require this – we have bought 2 new boxes for keys, of which one is up on our outside wall (the other is still in its box, though it is written on Simon’s to do list). We will remain with our breakfast sittings so we can accommodate guests in the breakfast room in a socially distanced manner. Breakfast orders and timings will be done via email as it was Summer 2020. Our enhanced cleaning regime will continue. And of course we will still be here, definitely looking forward when we can welcome you back to Whitby to our B&B.
Please do start planning your Summer 2021 holiday, we have already got lots of bookings due to transfer bookings from 2020 and some weekends are already sold out. We are not taking any deposits for this Summer until we are informed by Boris and his government of our date for re-opening.
We do look forward to seeing you all again this Summer 2021.
